Walking Tip:
How to Tell If You Need
New Walking Shoes

Walking Tip: Replace your shoes a minimum of every six months. Not sure how long is too long to go before buying? Are you energized after a walk or fatigued? Pounding the pavement can tire your entire body if the inner sole protection on your shoes has worn down. If you're developing a new callous or blister with an old pair of shoes, it's time for new shoes. Be good to your feet.

Power struggle or power walking? (Cleveland Advocate)
There are a lot of theories about how tennis shoes wind up hanging from power lines — from them being a juvenile prank by kids, to bullies taking the shoes from others, or just a lazy way to discard of an old pair of shoes — but the theory that concerns Cleveland city officials is that it might be a sign of gang activity.
